MECHATRONICS PROGRAM
ESTABLISHMENT
Mechatronics Program of Ege University Ege Higher Vocational School was established and started training with the English preparatory class in the 2013-2014 academic year by recommendations of Ege Higher Vocational School and decision of Higher Education Executive Board dated 22.02.2012.
MISSION
Mechatronics program's mission is to train society- and environment-sensitive, advanced technology-oriented, dynamic, creative, inquisitive and entrepreneurial technicians who are able to follow and direct research towards the national and international level technology with advanced teamwork skills and leadership capabilities through the synergy created by interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary platforms.
VISION
Vision of the program is taking an active part in technological activities in national and international levels with universally accepted graduates.
AREAS OF WORK
Mechatronics is a multi-disciplinary science that has emerged and advanced as a result of technological developments in the last 30 years. The mechatronic technician is a qualified technical personnel who works in installation, maintenance, repair and operation of intelligent electro-mechanical systems. The areas of application of this type of intelligent electro-mechanical systems are in manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, defense systems, especially in the medical industry, in sectors such as agriculture and animal husbandry.
- Automotive; in vehicle airbag safety systems, ABS brake systems, remote control door locks, and cruise control driving, engine control systems and power systems.
- Manufacturing; NC, CNC machine tools, rapid prototype manufacturing machines and other automatic manufacturing machines, variable speed drills, digital torque wrench.
- Office machines; photocopiers, printers, fax machines. Medical devices; MR devices, arthroscopic instruments, ultrasonic probes, surgical robots.
- Image processing; Autofocus cameras, video cameras, camera use in quality control. Aviation; Flight control systems, landing systems, cockpit controls and instruments.
- Home automation; Automatic garage door opening systems, fire and security systems, HVAC control systems.
- Home appliances: Washing machines, dishwashers, automatic ice machines.
